Aurora Behavior Services is committed to providing our clients and their families/caregivers with compassionate, always minimally intrusive, and compassionate services driven by evidence-based best practices which are current and child-centered. We prioritize behavioral and learning readiness skills with a consistent focus on maximum child independence, functional communication, and social interactive competencies.
Aurora Behavior Services doesn’t “do ABA.” We apply and combine the principles of behavior analysis and effective instructional practices to create environments that support authentic and compassionate behavior change. Aurora brings a unique focus and capacity for children with more profound/severe autism based on a great many years of combined experience. We create individualized and respectful care plans towards enhanced child - and family - independence.
Just one way Aurora is unique is that the owner, Amber Furby, and clinical advisor Dr. Lou Sandler, have both been licensed classroom teachers. We know that every child can learn. We never ‘force fit’ persons into environments which do not support Success! This means a focus on environmental change by prioritizing proactive and positive strategies, individualized reinforcers, child preferences and that which is most important for the family/caregivers.
Our framework creates a supportive and compassionate environment which supports Success! A supportive and compassionate environment where every learner is valued. And children receiving services at Aurora Behavior Services will never be sent home or services ended for the occurrence of challenging behaviors.
